What is this and could CBD  help? If you google the term Anxiety you will find numerous definitions about the subject along with many courses or ways of dealing with this. There are a lot of people dealing with this issue and they don’t realise they are anxious.  This is because many of us are not in touch with our bodies and we fail to see, or we ignore the signals our bodies are giving us. When the symptoms manifest themselves they show themselves in a physical manner and thus we don’t associate our flu or illness with this. This can be the case for other illnesses such as Depression or Stress. Triggers For Anxiety

We all have been anxious at some point in our lives and we experience this very regularly. It usually is a natural response to a situation we find ourselves in. Crashing your car or losing your job can bring it on. In these situations, it is very normal however if the feeling does not pass after a short period there may be an issue. Medication has its place, don’t get me wrong, however, I feel it should not be the first response. The techniques mentioned on our site are aids and they are used by respected therapists. Why Does It Happen

We are all unique. My hill is your Everest. A problem that would overwhelm me, you may take in your stride. Why it happens is just as unique to how you resolve it. It is extremely important to get to the root cause of the anxiety. If you don’t, no matter what you do or if you take a gallon of CBD for your anxiety the issue will come back again. Overwhelming anxiety doesn’t just occur overnight. It usually happens over a long period and it is a build of many things and we can often become overwhelmed by the smallest of things on the easiest of days. Anxiety Affects

When we are full of anxiety our bodies are in a constant state of fight. Our hormones are up and we find it hard to relax and switch off.  It almost like taking a lot of sugar.   • Irritability or always being in a bad mood
  • Worry or always feeling that something bad is about to happen
  • Asking a lot of needless questions and needing constant reassurance
  • Being a perfectionist
  • Being pessimistic and focusing on what may go wrong in any given situation

Our Inner Thought Bias

This is where we can think about the worst situation over and over. We tend to do this all the time as we war game our lives. I bet you have often had an argument and wished you had said or done something different. Things like this are natural however when they become overwhelming and take up all of our thoughts they can progress into physical symptoms such as panic attacks and these patterns of negativity can become ingrained in us. It is important to see these patterns in ourselves and to tackle them as they come so we can break the pattern in the early stages.

This is a common thought pattern (or style of thinking) when you feel low in mood or suffer from depression or anxiety (or any other mental health problem). We all think this way more of the time when we are stressed, upset, or generally overwhelmed.

Jumping To Conclusions

This is a biased style of thinking that we all do. But we do it more when we are stressed, depressed, anxious and overwhelmed.


Personalising is something we all do. But when it happens, it makes you feel worse.

All Or Nothing Thinking

It is also termed black and white thinking. This is a biased style of thinking that we all do. But we do it more when we are stressed, depressed, anxious and overwhelmed.


Understand your thoughts. Catastrophising, a thought pattern that we all do. But we do it more when we are stressed, depressed, anxious and overwhelmed


Labeling is a common thought pattern that is biased and, if left unchecked, makes you feel worse. Its something that we all do.

Toxic Should And Musts

Watch out for toxic shoulds and musts and do things for you not just because others want you too.

What Way Do You think

It is hard to think when we are emotionally involved and anxious. Imagine being in that state all the time and not even knowing it. How you think and recognising your emotions is so important. Mindfulness is important so your anxiety doesn’t overwhelm you and you don’t fall prey to it in a mental or physical form because trust me, the anxiety will show itself in some outward form


As we touched on in the previous post, how we look and think about things has a significant impact on our Anxiety. We can be wired a certain way through constant exposure to certain environments or traumas however the good news is this thought process can be changed. Listen to the clip below and I am sure you will either say, Heck yeah I would love to do that or Heck no, not in a million years.


Look at this picture and tell me do you believe what you see or do you see what you believe? Nothing is black and white in terms of our Anxiety and how we look at it or treat it.

You see this picture, depending on your perspective or thought process you will see one of two pictures. You may see a young woman or an old woman. Trust me, there are two very different women in that picture. Just like the picture our thoughts change day to day. We can often think of a situation differently when we are removed from the situation physically and mentally. How often have you been in an argument and wished you said this or that.

Just Relax

As the clip states, wouldn’t it be easy if someone said “Relax” and we were able to do just that however, anyone who has suffered from anxiety knows that it is not that simple. Anxiety can be caused by many things, like a sudden trauma however for many people it may seem that we just woke up an emotional wreck. However you found yourself feeling like this, there are ways to get yourself feeling better about the situation.

Don’t Be Ignorant

When you first notice the sign’s anxiety please don’t ignore the signs. The sooner you acknowledge the symptoms the sooner you feel back to your old self and the less complicated the treatment will be via time and methods.


Anxiety is a normal part of everyday life but when you have these feelings at the extreme end of the scale then it is time to question the emotions and your reactions to them. This would be the case for all these symptoms. You do not have to have them all or more than one to look at your anxiety or for you to think that there is an issue. In fact, dealing with the first symptom of anxiety may lead to you not getting further ones.

Please don’t compare your symptoms to others and think we will be ok because they seem to be or you will be a total mess as they seem to be. We are all different and how you came about with your anxiety is unique to you, just as how you will tackle it will be unique to you too. Things that would make me feel tense, you would take in your stride.

The important thing here is you understand what is your normal, what is not and you choose to deal with the emotions and issues as soon as you can. Lets look more into how we can treat anxiety with our next post.

Things That Help

There are many natural means that can help you with your Anxiety. We will be exploring herbs and spices like “turmeric” and equipment like float chambers. Let’s start with a very simple technique called Box Breathing.

Box Breathing

This treatment for anxiety is used to help calm the body and turn down the fight or flight reaction the body is in. This is located in the “Sympathetic nervous system“You want to lower these reactions and heighten the system that is responsible for rest, relaxation and peace, which is The Parasympathetic System.

So what we do is-

  1. Breathe in through the diaphragm is the stomach for 4 seconds.
  2. Hold this breath for 4 seconds
  3. Let this air out over a 4 second period
  4. Hold the air out for 4 seconds.
  5. Repeat this 5 to 6 times

Try it if you feel an attack coming on or you are in one. I can assure you that there is a great chance this will work and there is plenty of science behind it.

But remember on thing. There is usually a reason why you have these intense feelings and you need to figure out the underlying issues so you can work on them. Like this method and the next, they will just help you survive the moments however and it is always better to tackle the issue at source.

CBD And Anxiety


There is plenty of anecdotal evidence to show that CBD could help with the treatment of your anxiety. There is emerging hard evidence to show that it helps too. I was very sceptical when I first started using CBD however this scepticism turned into a feeling of “I don’t give a f**k as it is doing something” very quickly. Many people who use CBD for this have reported back to me stating that “I just can’t place my finger on it, but I feel much more relaxed”

During these years of working with CBD, I have found this and many other positive responses to CBD are well justified and there is certainly no placebo effect. This can be done on its own or in conjunction with the box breathing stated above. Like the other methods, it is very good to help lower the overwhelming feelings of anxiety you are having. When your mind is racing and you are overwhelmed by the mental aspect of what is going on, it can be helpful to turn to a physical distraction. This is done to counter the mental aspect and to try and help refocus the mind. There is a lot more to this than what I speak about here however it is a great start and great technique to help you relax.

If you feel an anxiety or panic attack coming on try this –

  1. Sit up and preferable with your shoes off place your feet flat on the ground
  2. Concentrate on your posture and with your eyes closed but they can be open
  3. Push the balls of your feet into the ground as hard as you can
  4. Feel the pressure on your feet and then switch to placing that pressure to your heal
  5. Notice the variation between the feelings on each part of your foot and how this transfers into your calve muscle in your leg
  6. Repeat this process and try to do this in conjunction with focusing on your breath.

I have used this many times and I can assure you that using this with other methods can help improve your situation. I have also had reports from customers using this when they felt overwhelmed in a crowded area. The best thing about this and the other methods is no one has to know you are even doing them.
